SEGRITY Announces Mentor-Protégé Agreement with Nexus Controls, a Baker Hughes business
DENVER, USA — May 7, 2020 — SEGRITY has announced a three-year Mentor-Protégé agreement with Nexus Controls, a Baker Hughes business (formerly, GE Energy Control Solutions, LLC), through U.S. Small Business Administration’s All Small Mentor-Protégé Program (ASMPP). This relationship provides both SEGRITY and Nexus Controls the opportunity to bring back the manufacturing of hydroelectric parts to the USA, to provide customers with options to support their OEM Woodward mechanical governors, and together offer a broader range of products and services to the hydroelectric industry.
SEGRITY, an engineering consulting and manufacturing firm, will receive mentoring from Nexus Controls on best practices in management, technology deployment and contracting assistance. This will help strengthen SEGRITY’s capability in new business development and the manufacturing of hydro parts.
James Volk, Vice President of Engineering and owner at SEGRITY said: “This relationship between SEGRITY and Baker Hughes will enable us to enhance our offering to utilities and hydroelectric power producers. Partnering with Baker Hughes is an exciting opportunity for SEGRITY and will help to reinforce ourselves as a market leader in hydro turbine governors and control systems.”
Scott Hover, Product Line Leader at Nexus Controls, a Baker Hughes business, said: “SEGRITY has a strong presence in the hydroelectric market and is an important partner for Baker Hughes in integration and implementation. Our technical expertise in control systems for critical machinery and plant-wide controls, coupled with SEGRITY’s in-depth market knowledge and experience in hydro, will enhance our ability to deliver the best solutions to our hydro customers.”
